Founded in 2010 as a French after-school program, Bonjour NY has evolved into a thriving summer day camp with three languages and three locations in NYC.

We have now weathered two pandemic summers and are so proud to have been able to provide your children with a safe, happy, and social summer after two difficult school years.

Camp was necessarily a bit different these last two summers, but with a lot of careful planning and care on our part, your children had fantastic experiences in a nurturing, fun, fully immersive environment.

This summer will be no different! With a new location and expanded reach, we are able to offer our programming to an even wider community of NYC families who are looking for language immersion with rich content and a wildly fun time.

Gabriel Torres (a former BNY counselor!) and Awantz St. Fleur, our lead administrative team, along with our experienced camp directors and senior counselors, welcome you back to summer.

Mother and Son

“My kids love Bonjour NY! They are doing so many things (games, trips, art activities while speaking French) and they are not aware (at all) that at the same time they are learning and working on their French! The counselors are great and caring. We’ll do it this year AGAIN!!”

Father and Daughter

“Bonjour NY has been great for our daughter! The camp has a primarily native French speaking staff, and they dote on their campers. The staff is spirited and fun. Our daughter, who can be very shy, blossomed around these kind and thoughtful adults. She learned a great deal of French this summer and even now, several weeks later, uses it at home.”

Where is the camp located?

We have 3 main site locations in New York. Upper West Side, near Central Park: Schechter Manhattan, 805 Columbus Avenue

Lower Manhattan: TBA, west side

Downtown Brooklyn near Fort Greene Park: BASIS Independent Brooklyn, 405 Gold Street

How many children are in each group?

We have approximately 10 to 15 campers in each group. Our ratio is one adult for every 5 children.

How much French is spoken in camp?

Bonjour NY is a full immersion camp. We speak the target language 95% of the time. We take every possible opportunity to teach our campers the target language and encourage our French learners to interact in French with us and with their peers through fun games and activities.

Do children need to be potty trained?

Yes. Children MUST be potty trained to attend camp.

Do you serve lunch?

No. Campers bring their own lunch daily and we have outdoor picnic lunch almost every day.

Can I cancel my registration and receive a refund?

No. All registrations are final and all payments are non-refundable. All weeks purchased, whether attended or not, cannot be refunded for any reason. You may purchase a cancellation policy from a third party insurance vendor.

What do you serve for snack?

We typically serve the following items for snack: fruit, cheese, crackers, yogurt, pretzels, apple sauce, cookies, etc. No peanut products are allowed in camp.

Do you provide transportation?

During Covid we have had to discontinue this offering. We will not be able to offer bus transportation in 2022. We plan to offer it again in 2023.

What do I need to pack for my child each day?

Please provide your child daily with the following items: lunch, water, swimwear, towel, sunscreen, hat, change of clothes.
